RNC is intended to be used at the scale of the equivalent paper chart. A display of RNC features cannot be simplified by the removal of features to suit a particular navigational circumstance at hand. Horizontal datum and chart projections may differ between RNCs. 
However, it is possible for ECDIS to automatically load adjoining chart based on the meta data provided.
RNCs are treated as individual charts (not seamless like ENCs). Unless these features are manually entered during route planning. With RNC, it is not possible to display a ship’s safety contour or safety depth ,. RNC will not trigger automatic alarms.
